The Jeep Wrangler is a compact and mid-size four-wheel drive off-road vehicle produced by 2022 Jeep Wrangler is the most recent generation was unveiled in late 2017 and went on sale in early 2018. The Wrangler is available in two-door and four-door body styles. The four-door model is called the Wrangler Unlimited.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Review
The Wrangler’s best potential fuel economy comes from the Wrangler 4xe. It has a turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a plug-in hybrid package. This combination produces 375 horsepower on a full charge and an all-electric range of about 22 miles.
Regular charging really helps Save gas. But once you run out of battery, the 4xe Hybrid only gets around 20 MPG, which isn’t any better than the Wrangler’s regular V6.
Prefer fuel sips to fuel sips? The Wrangler Rubicon 392 should suffice. For this model, Jeep has a powerful 470-horsepower 6.4-liter (392-cubic-inch) V8. Hit the throttle, and you’ll go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Impressively, the Rubicon 392 retains all of Rubicon’s Low-speed off-road capability is also impressive.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Performance
Make no mistake, the Wrangler is a beast when it comes to off-road capability. This is especially true of the Rubicon trim and its 33-inch tires and lockable differential. But day-to-day steering and handling suffer due to the traditional body-on-frame construction solid axle suspension and old-fashioned steering.
The long brake pedal travel is great for off-road modulation, but not for everyday driving.
The 3.6-liter V6 is solid and powerful—our four-door Sahara test Wrangler sprinted to 60 mph in 7.6 seconds. The eight-speed automatic shifts smoothly and always seems to be in the right gear.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Range and Battery Life
If the idea of tackling trails under pure electric appeal appeals to you, the 4xe powertrain is the obvious choice. The 17.0-kilowatt-hour battery pack is said to provide up to 25 miles of electric-only driving, but Jeep says that’s more than enough for a few hours of low-speed off-roading. When the battery,
The turbocharged four-cylinder is capable of driving all four wheels like a regular Wrangler, so you don’t have to worry about being stranded without a charge.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Comfort
The Wrangler doesn’t take passenger comfort very seriously, but here are some highlights. The front seats are in good shape and remain livable on long journeys. The rear bench is flatter and firmer, but a little sloping. We like the efficient climate system which also has rear air vent.
But the body-on-frame construction that gives the Wrangler its ready-to-go personality also helps drive anywhere but the slickest of surfaces. The boxy design and big tires generate a lot of wind and road noise, though it offers a quieter cabin than previous Wranglers. Hard tops are much quieter than soft tops.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Interior
It’s not the most spacious or comfortable SUV available, but, but the Wrangler offers a seamless blend of retro and modern Jeep traits. Visibility overlooking the road or trail facilitates maneuvering, but rear visibility is compromised by thick roof pillar roll bars and Various handles.
Just pop off the top and remove the door. The driver and front passenger sit near the upright windshield, facing a narrow square dash dotted with round air vents and chunky switchgear for the climate control system power windows (if equipped) and infotainment system. As an errand runner,
The Wrangler has plenty of room for groceries and gear, but do be aware that its rear seats don’t fold flush with the floor. As you might expect, the classic two-door Wrangler is the Larger infinity four-door model. Fitting only two of our carry-on suitcases behind the two-door rear seat (10 for the four-door rear seat) means you can travel light if you’re on an adventure with friends.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Technology
The Jeep Wrangler is surprisingly modern when it comes to infotainment and smartphone integration. The optional 8.4-inch U connect system provides crisp graphics with quick response and one of the best infotainment interfaces in the industry.
Plenty of charging ports (USB and USB-C) available. Apple The Wrangler’s 7-inch and 8.4-inch touchscreens come standard with CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration.
When it comes to advanced driving systems, the Wrangler falters. You get some features like blind-spot monitoring, but you won’t find high-tech aids like automatic emergency braking or lane-keep assist.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Storage
The Jeep’s narrow body is an off-road strength, but it does limit the ultimate cargo capacity. There’s a decent amount of cargo space, but competitors offer more. Even so, the rear seats fold neatly to the floor if you want to carry extra stuff.
There are even six sturdy securing points and an underfloor compartment. There isn’t much room for small items in the front, and the door pockets are nothing more than shallow nets.
Car seats are easy to install in Unlimited as long as they’re not too bulky – you may need to move the front seats forward to fit the rear-facing seats. The Wrangler can tow up to 3,500 pounds and can be towed flat behind the RV.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Fuel Economy and MPG
It doesn’t take much to be the best in class in this segment of gas-guzzling people. The new Wrangler’s EPA fuel economy estimates put it ahead of competitors like the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and Toyota 4Runner.
The most fuel efficient version comes with a diesel engine, MPG up to 22 MPG city and Hwy 29. The V-6-powered four-door Wrangler Sahara returned 20 MPG on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route 3 MPG shy of its EPA highway fuel-economy rating. The turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid did much better, delivering 26 MPG more than expected.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Value
The Wrangler looks like Jeep has put a real effort into the interior. Most switchgear looks unique and is satisfying to use. The dashboard and seat materials are attractive and have a nice touch. The Wrangler’s price tag is a bit steep, but the improved materials and design feel worth it cost. Jeep’s warranty coverage is average.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Speed
The Wrangler’s most common powertrain combines a 285-horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automatic and part-time four-wheel drive. It’s faster, more efficient and more refined than any Jeep powertrain before it, but it’s a little thin when it comes to low-end torque.
One solution is a 270-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo-4. Its 295 lb-ft hits 3000 rpm and the 4800 rpm in the V-6 gets more low-end grunt. It works better on trails where traffic lights and low-speed power can make the difference between the top and the trail. It’s Confident — but perhaps not as confident as the Wrangler’s torque-champion 3.0-liter turbo diesel V-6.
The turbo diesel is a more expensive upgrade on the highway, but its 442 lb-ft of torque at 1400 rpm is more important. This is a powerful trail boss only offers On the four-door Wrangler, it is favored for its unobtrusive and unusually smooth power delivery.
2022 Jeep Wrangler Prices
The two-door Sport priced at $31,320 (including $1,595 destination charge) has no air conditioning no power windows or locks and a tiny 5.0-inch audio display. The $42,045 Sahara four-door comes with 18-inch wheels and an 8.4-inch touchscreen that can be configured with a plug-in drivetrain.
Wednesday If you’re commuting in a Wrangler automatic, emergency braking for an extra fee is recommended; otherwise the $42,095 Rubicon is where the off-road party starts. Bring a wallet.
The all-new Jeep Wrangler is one of the most hotly anticipated vehicles of the year. Here’s everything we know about it so far, from its updated interior and exterior design to its new turbocharged engine options.
We’ve even had a chance to drive it ourselves and can attest to its impressive off-road capability. If you’re in the market for a new SUV, the Jeep Wrangler should definitely be on your radar.
