2023 Honda CR-V finally gets sporty upgrades
We’re excited to see what the new Honda CR-V brings to the table against rivals like the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5. The 2023 Honda CR-V is being redesigned with a sportier makeover and possibly more power and features.
2023 Honda CR-V: What’s new?

Get ready because the 2023 Honda CR-V will be a game-changer when it arrives this summer. It has a fresh face with slim LED headlights. We haven’t seen the grille or front bumper yet.
The teaser image also shows a new rear end with vertical lightning elements and new slime horizontal lights. The sides of the CR-V are sleeker offering a modern and more confident shape.
Based on the trailer we can see that the new Honda CR-V is designed to have a sportier, more rugged vibe. If the CR-V Trail Sport model arrives we expect it to be more than just an appearance package. It needs to keep up with the Toyota RAV4 TRD off-road model.
How much power does the 2023 CR-V have?
We’re still waiting to learn more about the 2023 Honda CR-V. Honda has been silent on its updates. But we should stay informed now as the 2023 model arrives in late summer.
The teaser images suggest that the Honda CR-V Hybrid model is coming soon. We’re not sure if the CR-V is just a hybrid or if it can be had with a gas engine.
The 2022 CR-V features a turbocharged 1.5-liter inline-four producing 190 hp and 179 lb-ft of torque.
This power is sufficient. It’s enough to pass other people on the highway and blend in with traffic but it’s not exciting. With this engine the CR-V can go from 0 to 60 mph in about 8.2 seconds.
It has good responsive handling corners and feels stable around curves. It can only tow up to 1500 lbs. We hope that towing at least 3500 pounds will add a little muscle.
The hybrid model features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors that produce 212 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. The new hybrid CR-V can use the same powertrain or a new setup.
How much does the 2023 CR-V cost?

Official pricing for the 2023 Honda CR-V has yet to be announced. The 2022 model starts at $26,400. The price could rise to around $27,000 to cover the new look and other upgrades. We can’t wait to see the new interior that might have a third row optional.
The standard 5.0-inch color radio screen could be dropped while the 7.0-inch infotainment screen could be replaced by a larger unit. The system would benefit from better-looking graphics and more physical controls.
We wonder if the panoramic sunroof wireless Apple CarPlay Android Auto, the head-up display 360-degree surround-view camera and other upgrades are in the works.
2023 Honda CR-V redesign
The CR-V is already very safe and comes with many standard features. However, safety features may become more advanced. We’ll be keeping an eye on the CR-V with the latest updates.
The 2023 Honda CR-V is a compact SUV that seats up to five passengers. It’s outfitted with standard driver assists such as adaptive cruise control and automated emergency braking. The vehicle has two engine options: a turbocharged four-cylinder or a hybrid powertrain.
All-wheel drive is available on all but the base model. A hands-free tailgate wireless phone charger and panoramic sunroof are among the luxury features offered on higher trims.
